Built for luxury, the newest ship by Crystal Expedition Cruises will make its official debut in 2020. The exclusive cruise has a 200-guest maximum capacity, ensuring that all aboard are treated like royalty. Onboard, you’ll find three fine dining restaurants; a waterslide, market and bistro; boutiques; a casino; an expansive promenade; a spa and salon, and a cigar club. While modern glam design throughout brings the Crystal Endeavor into a new era, it’s the ship’s voyages that steal the spotlight. Setting sail on August 18, 2021, Crystal Endeavor will embark on a 28-night expedition to some of the world’s most remote islands, archipelagos and coastlines—starting from Anadyr, Russia and heading for Tromsø, Norway—allowing adventurous guests to explore terrain few others ever have, all in luxurious comfort.

Scenic Cruises - Scenic Eclipse

Set to launch in 2019, Scenic Eclipse expertly pairs luxury with adventure. Not only does the cruise feature luxurious, sleek and modern design throughout, but it also offers a submarine and helicopters for intimate getaways within the getaway—all at a moment’s notice. To top it off, other amenities include butler service, multiple dining venues, a sanctuary-style spa, plunge pools and more.

The best amenity, however, is the impressive one-to-one guest to staff ratio. You won’t want to miss what’s in store for the inaugural season—Scenic Cruises' voyages to the final frontier (Antarctica) and Falkland and South Georgia Islands; travels to the Fjords of Chile and Norway; treks across the Scottish Isles to Atlantic Canada; and bright blue visions of the Mediterranean, the Iberian Peninsula, the British Isles and the Caribbean. And that’s just the beginning.

Ponant - Le Lapérouse

With 92 staterooms and suites (each with their own private balcony/terrace), life on board Le Lapérouse by PONANT is more akin to a chartered yacht experience than your standard cruise ship. First setting sail in 2017, Le Lapérouse features two intimate dining options, a library filled with books and board games and a wellbeing center offering treatments from luxury Parisian beauty brand SOTHYS.

Not to overlook the sleek design throughout the ship, but what truly steals the show is Blue Eye, an underwater lounge designed by architect Jacques Rougerie.

Rougerie’s vision behind the lounge was to “let guests become modern-day explorers, following in the wake of Jules Verne, Jacques-Yves Cousteau and the great adventurers.” To do so, Blue Eye features rounded furniture directed toward two large, eye-shaped portholes looking out into the subaquatic world. For a more in-depth look at the surrounding marine life, PONANT also created three non-intrusive underwater cameras that project images of the ocean’s seabed and photo-luminescent organisms onto digital screens integrated into the lounge’s overall design.

Further enhancing the multi-sensory experience, PONANT enlisted contemporary music composer and sound design expert Michel Redolfi to develop hydrophones that transmit the natural symphony of the sea into the lounge and also installed “Body Listening Sofas” in the lounge—each discreetly vibrating in unison with the sounds of the ocean to create an underwater encounter guests can see, hear and feel.
