We're all dreaming of a tropical vacation, but where to begin? Two destinations come to mind: The Bahamas and The Caribbean. A Closer Look: Let's Compare

The Caribbean

Just south of the United States, The Caribbean is a group of islands located in the Caribbean Sea. With so many islands, they are often categorized into the Southern, Eastern, and Western regions.

Weather in the Caribbean is like most other tropical destinations, with hurricane season and increased rainfall happening in August to October. There are many islands in the Caribbean that are usually outside of the hurricane range, however.

Some activities people love in the Caribbean is lounging on the beach and swimming in the crystal clear water. For thrill seekers, however, there are a wide array of activities from deep sea fishing to dune buggy safaris!

The Bahamas

If you are planning on going to the Bahamas, you are in for a treat. Swimming pigs, clear water, and Norwegian's own private island await. If you are looking for an affordable weekend trip, the Bahamas is a great destination for 3-5 day cruises.

While the weather in the Bahamas is usually warm with a slight breeze, the chance of rain does increase as you travel closer to late summer and fall. Another important time to note for travel through Florida is the dates of most spring breaks. These occur March to mid-April, so avoiding these times will ensure your air and land travel is much less crowded.
