Gone are the Days of Overcrowded Cruises
This is the ultimate roundup of Ocean Luxury Cruises you can’t miss. Thanks to this fleet of ultra-luxe ships—setting sail for the first time—the world is your oyster.
Crystal Cruises - Crystal Endeavor
Built for luxury, the newest ship by Crystal Expedition Cruises will make its official debut in 2020. The exclusive cruise has a 200-guest maximum capacity, ensuring that all aboard are treated like royalty. Onboard, you’ll find three fine dining restaurants; a waterslide, market and bistro; boutiques; a casino; an expansive promenade; a spa and salon, and a cigar club. Accommodations include 90 Deluxe Suites, eight Penthouse Suites and two Crystal Penthouse Suites.
While modern glam design throughout brings the Crystal Endeavor into a new era, it’s the ship’s voyages that steal the spotlight. Setting sail on August 18, 2021, Crystal Endeavor will embark on a 28-night expedition to some of the world’s most remote islands, archipelagos and coastlines—starting from Anadyr, Russia and heading for Tromsø, Norway—allowing adventurous guests to explore terrain few others ever have, all in luxurious comfort.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection
In February 2020 The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will take to the seas with its inaugural departure heading from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Bridgetown, Barbados. The fleet of yachts offers intimacy, accommodating up to 298 passengers maximum, with the same grandeur style of the company’s signature hotels.
Each suite comes with its own private terrace, while each guest will enjoy an all-inclusive luxury sailing experience including spacious accommodations, onboard activities and entertainment, beverages, multiple dining venues and watersports from the yacht’s marina. For an additional fee, guests also have the opportunity to enjoy unforgettable meals at Aqua, the yacht’s signature restaurant designed by Michelin-starred chef Sven Elverfeld, spa treatments, and immersive excursions offered through The Shore Collection.
Two lavish Owner’s suites—which feature a private whirlpool, modern craftsmanship and interior finishes jointly designed by The Ritz-Carlton and leading design firm Tillberg Design of Sweden—are also included on each yacht. Plus, voyages are customizable, giving guests the option to book back-to-back voyages without repeating ports, allowing them to explore a wider range of destinations and delve into the local culture at each port
Scenic Cruises - Scenic Eclipse
Set to launch in 2019, Scenic Eclipse expertly pairs luxury with adventure. Not only does the cruise feature luxurious, sleek and modern design throughout, but it also offers a submarine and helicopters for intimate getaways within the getaway—all at a moment’s notice. To top it off, other amenities include butler service, multiple dining venues, a sanctuary-style spa, plunge pools and more.
The best amenity, however, is the impressive one-to-one guest to staff ratio. You won’t want to miss what’s in store for the inaugural season—Scenic Cruises' voyages to the final frontier (Antarctica) and Falkland and South Georgia Islands; travels to the Fjords of Chile and Norway; treks across the Scottish Isles to Atlantic Canada; and bright blue visions of the Mediterranean, the Iberian Peninsula, the British Isles and the Caribbean. And that’s just the beginning.
Since launching in 1987, Seabourn has earned its reputation as a top luxury cruise line thanks to ultra-luxe ships and impeccable customer service. The Seabourn Ovation, launched in 2018, is no exception. The vessel carries 600 guests across 300 luxuriously-appointed, amenity-packed suites.
Throughout their journey, guests enjoy fine dining and complimentary wine and spirits, as well as seven different lounges and bars, a private sanctuary known as “The Retreat,” shops, a library, a salon, a casino, two outdoor swimming pools, six whirlpools, complimentary water sports and complimentary “Massage Moments” on deck.
As for the voyages, from the bottom of the world to the very top, the options are virtually limitless as, thanks to its intimate scale, Ovation is also able to navigate its way through destinations that larger cruise ships cannot.
Ponant - Le Lapérouse
With 92 staterooms and suites (each with their own private balcony/terrace), life on board Le Lapérouse by PONANT is more akin to a chartered yacht experience than your standard cruise ship. First setting sail in 2017, Le Lapérouse features two intimate dining options, a library filled with books and board games and a wellbeing center offering treatments from luxury Parisian beauty brand SOTHYS.
Not to overlook the sleek design throughout the ship, but what truly steals the show is Blue Eye, an underwater lounge designed by architect Jacques Rougerie.
Rougerie’s vision behind the lounge was to “let guests become modern-day explorers, following in the wake of Jules Verne, Jacques-Yves Cousteau and the great adventurers.” To do so, Blue Eye features rounded furniture directed toward two large, eye-shaped portholes looking out into the subaquatic world. For a more in-depth look at the surrounding marine life, PONANT also created three non-intrusive underwater cameras that project images of the ocean’s seabed and photo-luminescent organisms onto digital screens integrated into the lounge’s overall design.
Further enhancing the multi-sensory experience, PONANT enlisted contemporary music composer and sound design expert Michel Redolfi to develop hydrophones that transmit the natural symphony of the sea into the lounge and also installed “Body Listening Sofas” in the lounge—each discreetly vibrating in unison with the sounds of the ocean to create an underwater encounter guests can see, hear and feel.

Silversea Cruises - Silver Muse
Carrying up to 596 guests in comfort and style across the seven seas is the Silver Muse, which launched in 2017 and is considered to be Silversea Cruises most luxurious vessel. For on-deck adventures that are truly “suite,” the ship offers suite only accommodations—each with complimentary butler service, a fully-stocked bar, choice of toiletries, a pillow menu with nine different options and plush beds adorned with Pratesi linens. Eight dining venues and all-inclusive alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages can also be found on board, while off board plenty of optional excursions are offered, including multi-night overland journeys on select itineraries.
Virgin Voyages - Scarlet Lady
Scarlet Lady marks the beginning of Virgin Voyages, a new cruise line from airline Virgin Atlantic. “She” is the first of four cruises and is scheduled to set sail in 2020. Featuring teched-out cabins complete with mood lighting; multiple restaurants and 24-7 dining options; a glitzy entertainment venue and promises of regular musical guests, parties and DJ nights; a gym, athletic club and spa; and even a tattoo studio, Scarlet Lady is sure to bring Virgin Group founder Richard Branson’s rock n’ roll flair to every aspect of the luxury ship.
